Insouciant Studios "Perched Trilobite" Earrings from the Natural History Collection
These earrings feature 100% natural fossil trilobites (Phacops sp., Devonian) hand drilled (by me) and set on 14k gold filled earwires and findings, accented with champagne biwa pearls and pale green moss agate. These are a sweet, traditionally styled way of saying you like science!

Quartz (SiO2, Silicon Dioxide) is the second most abundant mineral of the Earth's crust. Quartz has a hardness of 7 on the Mohs scale, an occurs in a variety of colors, from colorless to black. Banded and mottled varieties are called agate, while microcrystalline quartz is called chalcedony. Some of the colors have their own gem names:
Yellow and Purple: Ametrine
White: Milk, snow
Orange/ Red: Carnelian
