Insouciant Studios Cambrian Explosion Earrings
Insouciant Studios "Cambrian Explosion" earrings, part of the Natural History Collection. These dangle earrings are handmade from genuine fossil ammonites. These earrings feature two lovely Straparollus catilloides ammonite fossils on 14k gold filled earwires & hand twisted 14k gold filled wire, accented with lovely seed pearls and green chalcedony quartz. The unusual shape is inspired by the variety of strange and wonderful forms of life that took shape during the Cambrian explosion.
These fossil ammonites are classified as Straparollus catilloides, sometimes also seen as Amphiscaphe catilloides. They are from the Pleasanton Formation in Orrick, Missouri, and date to the Pennsylvanian period.
