Nice Gypsum Rose Specimens

Gypsum is the mineral calcium sulfate dihydrate, CaSO4 * 2 H2O, a hydrous evaporite mineral. These little roses, also called desert roses or selenite roses, show great intersecting tabular crystals. Gypsum is used in the manufacture of sheetrock or wall board, paper, glass, and ceramics.

Selenite is a very clean, translucent crystalline variety of gypsum, while alabaster is a massive variety of the same mineral.

Two sizes are available-- small and medium.

Both sizes are available drilled for beading, as well.
