Snake Range Folded Calc-Silicate Rock

Nice hand sample of folded calc-silicate from the Snake Range in Nevada.

Very nice folded sample of calc-siliciate (calcium silicate) rock from the Snake Range mountains in Nevada. This sample is from Old Man’s Canyon, and is from a unit stratigraphically situated above the Old Man Canyon pluton, but below the Snake Range Decollement (a basal detachment fault, or really big sliding surface between two masses of rock). Good looking sample. Could also make a cool stamp, if you wanted to ink it up for block printing or stationary. 7 oz

This would be a great gift for the budding geologist or scientist.
